House Issue

We've got to do a better job of keeping the house tidy, outside and inside. Last Sunday, I stopped in @ 2:30 on my way back to Memphis and there was a decent amount of trash in the back yard and the back door was unlocked! A lot of lights were on, two heaters were left on and it wasn't cold outside and the inside of the house wasn't something to be proud of. At the minimum, make sure the doors are locked and not be wasteful of utilities.
Sorry to lecture, but we lease that house and our landlord stops by occasionally to check in. All it will take is them coming by on a bad day and they'll say, "we've decided not to lease this house to you anymore" and that will be the end of a great clubhouse. The house is a reflection of what kind of folks we are to the locals and our landlord. more »

IN CASE YOU HAVN'T NOTICED...

TRiv has eclipsed last years total bag ALREADY, and we still have several weeks to go! If everyone had been posting there hunts I think I might actually feel GUILTY at the total carnage. Well, not really, it boils down to them or us....it's just that simple. If we let them overpopulate... the birdflu will kill us all.

Paulie and his crew havn't reported their numbers from last week. As soon as they get it to me I will post it. So the known total bag is actually even higher. I'm actually surprised that we've bested last year in a year of high water everywhere.

2.Heeb pit: I hunted the heeb pit this past
weekend with Joel and the Johnstons. I had
low expectations but was surprised by the
birds that we saw.
3.Rain is the soup of choice this weekend but
lets still give it a whirl.
4.Andy Garrison and myself among others are

Schedule

Isn't the season closed from 1/8/07 to 1/12/07 for another split? If so the schedule does not reflect this (there should be 0's across those days as there were with the earlier split so the schedule doesn't progress). Sorry I haven't benn at Three rivers much this year. I have hunted almost every weekend from many invites around the area. By far Three Rivers, even without Stovall's postings, has done better than anywhere else I've been. I'll be over to hunt Sat. and maybe Sun. Smack 'em in the lips. Double T

South House makin' a statement...

I bow down to you Mike Johns for finally breaking the 1 barrior at South House and boosting the numbers to THREE!!! heehee, that tickled me...you are the MAN!

On a more serious note, would you have killed more had you been in the house pit rather than South House? I just can't imagine a good reason why we have the two pits so close to the other. When I hunted the house pit the other day, by far between the two pits House was better, but I did lose a few birds to the decoy spread in S House. I can't help but wonder if that spread wasn't there if the House pit wouldn't be a little better? What do you think? Anyone else have an opinion? more »

North Bridge dekes still need work...

...as of last thursday. Tuesday I discovered North Bridge pit flooded and many of the dekes floated off after the two inch rain. Tuesday I pumped the pit out. Thursday I rebrushed the gates with fast grass and collected the several dozen dekes that had collected north of the pit at the levee's edge.

As of last thursday there were still quite a number of dekes (several dozen) south of the pit spread out along the levee that need to be collected by anyone who's feeling industrious. The pit also needs some long poles to keep the gates propped up right.

(*note to selfs for next year*...longer than a 12 inch line per deke would be prudent). more »
