Where is everybody? I hunted Heeb with my buddies from Atlanta Sunday afternoon. Lots of working long distance birds. I am not kidding I saw 100+ ducks working the pit at 80 yards for a strong three minutes. I have never seen that in my short ducking career. No strong commitments on the birds but a long range shooter could have had a good day from heeb sunday afternoon. The only thing i can figure is that the pits north of 14 have not been grazed over yet. In other words, fresh food for the birds. Plus the ice melt really made them hungry. My buddy Mark Christopher shot his first bird. I was really happy. Mark and his 16 year old son have come to three rivers two other times. The two prevous hunts were dismal. They saw ducks fall from the sky, working birds, excellent retrieves from ODIE and met the game warden Larry. After the high fives with Mark, I told him that we know an excellent taxidermist. Let's keep wackin em folks, b/c season will be closing this weekend and we need to get them while we can. This is the time of the season that we need to spread out and hunt smaller groups in more pits if we want to get the best harvest. Realize that 80% of our pits haven't been hunted in over a week, so be adventuresome and head to the pits outside of section 2 pits and let's hunt.

Also, note that the key to the Chase pit is on the post in a hide-a-key box, as well as at the main clubhouse. Make sure to close up the gates after you enter any of the Heeb pits.

hey boys,even though it is cold the temps should rising a little so stick with it until the break.
remember to post your hunts even if you got zero.

next random thought is if you can remember,bring a trash bag with you to the pit.north bridge/roberts are pretty embarrising to take guests to.

Remember the day last week (Wed, the 29th) with you, me, and Charles in North Bridge? I left early to catch a nap because i had to work in Memphis that afternoon. You and Charles stayed out and I heard through the grapevine that your patience was rewarded by bustin a cap in several more ducks and geese. HOWEVER, there is no hunt log entry! If you dont know how, I'll give you a tutorial. I wonder how many more have not been recording their hunts in the hunt log?? more »
