WHAT DO YOU THINK?
I have a thought to share.
Over the next two weeks I would like to pick up the decoys at the South House pit and maybe another less hunted pit to lessen the load after the season comes to a close.
what is the general response of the club?
My next question is what to do with the sinkers that Grover mentioned.
My suggestion would be to bag up the good decoys and only save the weights off the sinkers.Obviously pick the sinkers and not leave them out there.
I know this sounds wasteful, but the time and effort it takes to repair a sinker is time consuming. The 3 rivers flock needs good decoys not repaired old ones that are subject to sinking all over again. more »

Duckhunters Gone Wet
Should be a DVD title. For those that hunted this weekend you will understand my next statement. All of my worldy possesions are either mildewed, wet , jammed ,broken or in pawn.
My sinuses have a good infection too.
I feel really sorry for Bill Thompson's younger brother who flew in from Dallas drove from little Rock, then drove another 45 minutes this morning and found a swamped pit at North Roberts. That's a tough break.

LeakyDekes EVERYWHERE
Some quick thoughts about our growing flock of leakers that clutter up the pits...
Every year the problem seems to get bigger. What we currently do is pick up all the decoys at the end of the year...leakers and floaters alike and store them until next year. The next year it seems all the leakers are getting mixed in with the regular flock. Opening week the spreads look great, then a few days later about 10% of each flock has turned into submarine dekes.
We need to get these dekes culled out of the spreads now. Having done this a few weeks ago at North Bridge, I can tell you its a fairly time-consuming task for one person and required a four-wheeler. more »
Free Ranger Cap'm for SUNDAY JAN 19th!!!!!
I'm taking dibs on East Claypools. So don't anybody get any wise idea like you can sneak out there and just take a spot.
Right now the only guns in the pit are Michael, Jr's and mine, so the way I see it, is we are already getting pretty full. Some of you are going to have to suck it up and realize that you had your chances.
One more thing, this all depends on weather or not I can get my hands on a four wheeler ( or as some of our migrating members would call it a quad). So, if I can't get one then all bets are off, and I'll just have to stay with my rotation at the Swan Pond pit.
