What You Need on An Arkansas Dove Hunting Weekend

by Moo

-------------------------------

Absolutely Required:
A team attitude! Dove hunting is really a team sport,
so come ready to root for your field pals.
A commitment to safety. Dove hunting is very dangerous due
to LOTS of nearby hunters and low-flying birds.

Important Terms:
"LOW BIRD!" for when the birds fly below safe-to-shoot level
"JOHNNY!!! OVER YOU!!" Know your field pals' locations and names
so you can warn them when birds fly over them from behind.
Dove hunting is like a giant pin-ball machine that works more »

No More Room for Saturday

Email me if you have other guests that would like to come dovin Sunday, but Saturday is full. See you @ 5 AM.

Believe it or not, it's already time again for us to get target
practice on the ever elusive turtle dove. For the last three years,
we have had good luck in AR because a farmer friend of mine really
loves helping friends and their families enjoy a great day in the
dove field. It's no accident that we've done well, because he does
everything in his power to persuade the doves to show up in force. more »

whatsssssssssss upppppppppppp

hey guys quick note from the north land. our crops are burnning up, but some recent rains give a glimmer of hope. we had great breeding conditions in our neck of the woods this spring and i have witnessed some very good duck numbers this year. far more young birds than in the past couple years. we have young birds that are already flying and we have seen several groups of very small birds even this week. this is a great indicator of 2nd and possible some 3rd hatches. michigan is often not thought of as a major breeding area, however, i think it contributes more birds than we think. more »
