BBQ Dinner Saturday Night at Triv Main Clubhouse 1/13/07 6 PM

Chef Mike Johns is gettin the pig out again this weekend for a third opening weekend party Saturday night. He'll need a little help from the chefs for the sides, so pitch in when you can. Bring @$10/head for supplies and come hungry around 6 PM. If you have more than a couple of guests, shoot me an email so that we'll have plenty of supplies.

Looking forward to it-HZ

House Issue

We've got to do a better job of keeping the house tidy, outside and inside. Last Sunday, I stopped in @ 2:30 on my way back to Memphis and there was a decent amount of trash in the back yard and the back door was unlocked! A lot of lights were on, two heaters were left on and it wasn't cold outside and the inside of the house wasn't something to be proud of. At the minimum, make sure the doors are locked and not be wasteful of utilities.
Sorry to lecture, but we lease that house and our landlord stops by occasionally to check in. All it will take is them coming by on a bad day and they'll say, "we've decided not to lease this house to you anymore" and that will be the end of a great clubhouse. The house is a reflection of what kind of folks we are to the locals and our landlord. more »

Don't Be Shy

Let's keep wackin em folks, b/c season will be closing this weekend and we need to get them while we can. This is the time of the season that we need to spread out and hunt smaller groups in more pits if we want to get the best harvest. Realize that 80% of our pits haven't been hunted in over a week, so be adventuresome and head to the pits outside of section 2 pits and let's hunt.

Also, note that the key to the Chase pit is on the post in a hide-a-key box, as well as at the main clubhouse. Make sure to close up the gates after you enter any of the Heeb pits.

Happy hunting-HZ

Loggin in your hunts

At the day of your hunt, log in and report your harvest so that we can keep a current log for folks to view. Jason has worked very hard on this function to ensure an easy and current hunt log. If you can't figure out how to do it, ask and we'll go over it with you.

Thanks-HZ

OPENING WEEKEND SCHEDULE - yeewhoo

Friday night - hang out at the house with pep talk and visit from Warden Larry.

Saturday 12 Noon Brunch - come hungry and expect a lot of folks with homemade breakfast food. GROUP PICTURE AFTERWARDS, so don't clean birds until after the picture has been taken.

Saturday 6:30 Supper - Chef Mike and Dave present TN hog done right with sides from Whole Hog BBQ, Fayetteville, AR.

Sunday 12 Brunch - same as Saturday.

If you don't know where all the pits are, that's OK as long as you know where your pit is located and ready for hunting opening day. Plan on making sure your pit has been bailed out dry, the decoys arranged and pit camoed properly. You'll have plenty of time to get well aquainted with the new pits Saturday afternoon as we'll be scouting them all. more »

Good Work!

One of our most productive work days of all time. Thanks to a good turnout, great weather and everyone giving 100% effort, we were able put out decoys, camo pits(7 with 3 left) and do house repair and we are ahead of schedule with preparations for opener.

The balance left this weekend finishing the last 3 Heeb pits, removing water from the pits and final house cleanup. If you can, come over Friday night or early Sat. morning to finish prep. so we can focus on opening weekend without last minute work to complete.

Expect a GPS accurate map of all pits and opening weekend schedule soon. Let me know if I missed your checkin on attached spreadsheet for work days. more »
