Bad day to be a dove

Wow. The dove showed up in force saturday morning at our milo field and the 68 degree windy opener was very refreshing to get out of the big city and see the guys wackin the quick flyers. Based on visiting with folks and multiple runs back to the truck for more ammo, I'd say the average gun shot over 5 boxes and we took home well over 500 dove Saturday morning. more »

I don't think I've ever hunted dove with muddy roads, but there's a first time for everything. Gustav has left us with us with a nice and cool weekend forecast so we'll see what happens. Looking forward to seeing everyone again and am curious to see how my robodove works.

Three Rivers AR Dove Hunt Opening Weekend September 6 & 7/2008

A month from now, we'll be in the dove field having target practice on the quick flyers, dialing in the lead preparing for the green wings this Fall. For the last four years, we have had good luck in AR in the dove field. It's no accident that we've done well, because the farmer does everything in his power to make the dove show up in force. more »

Three years ago, the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission voted to ban the use to spinning-wing decoys for waterfowl hunting, hoping other states across the Mississippi Flyway would follow suit.
