what i have learned this week

just a quick observation that i have learned this week. the first 10 to 40 minutes of my hunts we can fool ducks into close range but as the day progresses the ducks are able to take their time when flying around the pit.so all that being said, the first or second pass the ducks take is going to be your highest percentage shot.dont be afraid to shoot.they are not going to die by waiting for a 10 yard shot.these are my observations, they might seem obvious but put into action they will pay off.
thank you for your time and dont be afraid to get down with the sickness!!!!!
and oh yea...that teal that you missed is still flying around. more »

Lost and Found (CASE XX Peanut Knife)

Found a knife at the duck cleaning station this weekend. Its a "peanut style" CASE XX knife. I have it in my possession for safekeeping. Pass the word along. The keen edge of this blade and good condition lets me know it belongs to someone who would appreciate having it back. Seems like I remember one of the Yanks using it to clean ducks either the day before, or the day that they left.

Holy Smokes Dont give up.....

We had big ducks all over us today at North Roberts. I had chalked up today as a last ditch effort till the weather changed. Was I wrong. At one point Nelson, Weezie and myself were outside the pit while ducks continued to work. We shot a limit of pintails, and had to watch groups of pintails work the deeks. Son of a, it was maaarvelous. I always shoot so much better when Andy Bowden and Andy Garrison, Grover and Moo are there. Its really great when you dont pull the trigger and Egg says GREAT SHOT BRADLEY. Just kidding good times had by all.

Loggin in your hunts

At the day of your hunt, log in and report your harvest so that we can keep a current log for folks to view. Jason has worked very hard on this function to ensure an easy and current hunt log. If you can't figure out how to do it, ask and we'll go over it with you.

Thanks-HZ
