where are the pintails?
Just realized we are 3 weeks from completing the season and have just a mere 23 logged pintails....any thoughts other than the obvious. seems like the forecast was for a normal hatch and flight. kinda skeerin me.

A banded bird stat would be cool. Maybe even log the banding information when is is gathered. You know kind of our own little "tracking log"

congratz Greg!
Perhaps we need to add a banded bird tally to the hunt log. Two in one week!!

Killed 4 long tails this afternoon at a non club pit, but the big numbers of pintails the last few seasons haven't shown til the last 2 weeks of the season.
Sky busted a banded blue goose this morning in North Bridge banded in Nunavut in 2004. Had to Google Nunavut to see where it came from. Google Earth says 2300 miles north of here. Kinda cool.
WOW, a banded blue, now thats a rare thing. Kinda makes shootin at them worth the effort...LOL,
Randy
Thats a long ways up there its above Manitoba. To kill a banded Blue is awesome. The pintails in Ga worked in with a group of Mallards, also saw two Black ducks but didnt have a loaded gun.Hope to see everyone Weds the 12th tired of Al & Ga hunting...YDD
This year has been really weird, the ducks seem fewer and fewer.
They just don't seem to flood in like they have in the past. I remember when I was younger, the ducks would just cover the sky. It was like they would never end. Pintails seemed more west of Ark. Did not know Alabama had that many pintail, that's interesting, and on a lake. I use to hunt more around Stuttgart, and they were plentiful, everywhere. They are very weary ducks.
You no I have been hunting alot in Alabama & Ga & I have seen more Pintails over here (killed two) than in Ark. Also swear to this saw 3 pintails the Wed before Christmas with a Blue Goose on Lake Weiss in East Alabama
I think it's the spatches.....They are everywhere.....
I believe the Gadwalls ate em all!
