Since we in Arkansas can no longer use spinning wings decoys (motorized or not), what are you gonna use to help lure in our wiley friend, Mr. C.M. Ducks?
Write and let us know what old or new gadget / techinque you plan on employing.

I think movement of any type is going to be key.  It's time we get out the ole jerk strings and get to jerkin, Chub style.  It will be nice not having to keep the batteries charged up.  Also, decoys made by Greenhead Gear that sit on top of the levee and move with the wind should help.

1. I have had several inquiries about Spinning Wing Decoys in Arkansas; I have obtained a copy of the Official Code Of Regulations of AGFC.
Sect. 12,26 reads:
"It shall be unlawful to take or attempt to take waterfowl with the use of spinning or flapping wing decoys after July 1, 2005.
Exception during the Snow, Blue and Ross Goose Conservation Order.
Penalty: $100.00-$1,000.00."
My analysis: It does not matter if they are mechanical, man or wind powered, if the wings "spin or flap", you cannot use them in Arkansas.
This would not appear to prohibit the swimming, splashing, and paddle wheel type decoys.
2. I have commissioned Perry Wood, ace recon pilot to fly eastern Arkansas today or tomorrow and i will report his findings; he will make the circuit from Mud Lake, NW to Bayou DeView-Cache-White Rivers, then NE Greasy Slough and to Claypool's, then E to
St. Francis River, then E to the Mississippi River
More news to follow.
