More Three Rivers News

This is the time of year, hasn't happened quite yet, when the site traffic starts to pick up. I, by no means, am privy to ALL the latest greatest exciting developments of note for TRIV members.....Howevah, here are a couple of developments that you may find interesting.

We are currently revamping the pit gates in Section Two...started last sunday spent all day with the design and mock-up on North Bridge. We took advantage of the dry fields and towed the welder out to the pit. Our best pit had some of the worst gates...you know, the ones that flop down and hit you on the head even after stuffing shotgun shells, sticks, etc., trying to prop them up. Stiles (welding genius) and I have worked very hard the last several years maintaining and repairing the pit gates, and now we are starting round two of improvement. Stile's genius has struck again and he has designed a new type of gate for trial in Section 2. One great design feature is that the gates can be brushed at the shop, and THEN carried out in the field to make the brushing process a little easier. I'll try to post a picture of the new gates after this weekend.

Also exciting news is that sunday we'll be selecting the lucky candidate who will be the future guest of honor in the November BIG PIG celebration of Opening Weekend! We are going for a little larger fellow this time... approximately 200 lbs. Thinking about spraypainting TRIV on his back in ORANGE...might have to post a pic of him too, lol.
