Less than 24 hours away
Fellas,
In less than 24 hours we will all be a few shotgun shells poorer but feeling immensely wealthier by leaving the field having known that each and every one of us have helped our country eradicate a growing problem...wild ducks.
This the just be the beginning. While we don't usually discriminate against any bird at Three Rivers, our goal this year is to send the northern shoveler the way of the dodo. Let's exterminate this vile nuissance by mowing down every immature male or hen we see!
On tap for future extinction, the coot. They're mean little boogers but their coats are worth a fortune!
By the way, make sure to sign your license and stamps, watch the shooting times and properly identify the bird you are aiming toward as a shoveler before you pull the trigger.
Get 'em.

Yes, the game warden's have been out in force, mostly checking people in the Claypool Section opening day. I know I was checked yesterday after a great shoot at the Lost pit, and more or less everyone who hunted the afternoon out of the Claypool, Lost, Berger, Alabama pits were checked.
