I don't know what the deal is but we have sent 2 dogs to the vet in 3 days out of the same pit for multiple staples a piece. Both come from n roberts. I thought the first dog player steve's dog was cut from the gates sharp edge. I went out and took tape and covered all the edges. Player ended up with 7 staples. 2 days latter i had my dog bella on the opposite side of the pit in the other box, again taping all sharp edges i could find and toward the end of the hunt she climbed back in after we all got out to move decoys and i noticed she wouldn't put her back foot down. It took several looks to find the cut on the bottom of her foot. She ended up with 5 stitches and 6 staples on the bottom of her foot. Only up side was that it was on the last day before the split but im sure being on the weekend it gona be a hefty bill. So unitl it gets figured out everyone be careful with ur favorited hunting buddy and keep ur eyes open for anything that could be the cause.

My friend Steve had his dog cut while hunting that pit. Not bad enough for stitches but a vet visit was needed to check things out. Also Steve ripped his waders on the pit.

Maybe some fuel line hose around the edges would help.

If you remember, north roberts is the pit that was flooding last year, so this year, we welded an extension all the way around the pit, which is working good. Welding crew could have overlooked a sharp edge so we need to survey closely and find the sharp edge and fix it. It will be as simple as taking a file or a cordless grinder or a fancy generator like someone I know has and angle grind the culprit down. Please reply to this blog after the fix has been done so our 4 legged friends won't be nervous to go to one of my favorite pits:)
