Stoeger Update

Well, the Stoeger M3500, named Shotgun of the Year by the NRA in 2011, malfunctioned just once too often while I was in South Dakota last week shooting the wily pheasant.

However, instead of beating it to death against the side of a pit, as I did my Stoeger 2000 two years ago, I traded it back to the gun dealer up there who sold it to me, and who amazingly still remains a friend, for a new Benelli Super Black Eagle II.

So, just letting you guys know you don't have my Stoeger to make fun of anymore.

And, I won't be driving my Kia over to duck club, either. I've bought a duck club pickup.

So, be on notice, you won't have ol' Thunder to kick around this year.

Thunder broke the Stoeger curse with 19 men watching and praying the Benelli would not miss fire (might make sure you put more than 1 shell in the gun before you kill the messenger)! BOYS counting the hours not days anymore! Congrats Dan

I'll give Ole Thuder Dan this, He is as brand loyal as they come. In spite of constant year after year razing by his friends he stood by the Stoeger time and time again.

He learned that having a 3lb sledge hammer handy will fix most Stoeger problems. For all the others there was having a tool box full of replacment parts.

Ole Dan defended the Stoeger even with all its flaws just as a good lawyer would. However in the end he was forced to admit, buying a gun made from Benelli scrap was a cost saving measure but not a wise choice.

Let's welcome Daniel Lloyd Taylor to the family of Fine Shotguns...and Remember; if it starts with a "B" its a pretty good shotgun !

Services for the Stoeger will be held Opening Day at noon in Beedeville on the banks of the mighty Cache River. Dan ask that in lieu of flowers, Donations be made on his behalf to Delta Waterfowl.
