Hey All,

Youth Weekend is a good time to remind/teach youngsters about gun safety, so here are the basics as they were taught to me:

The Four Basic Rules of Gun Safety:

  1. Don't Ever Touch the Trigger Except to Fire The Gun! Keep your finger outside of the trigger guard. This is the most important rule of all.
  2. All Guns Are Always Loaded. Treat all guns, no matter what, as if they are always loaded.
  3. Don't Point a Gun At Something Unless You Are Prepared to Destroy It. Never at a camera for a picture, never kidding around with friends, etc.
  4. You Are Criminally and Civilly Liable Every Time You Fire A Gun. Your bullet hits a car or house or window a mile away? You pay for damages. You hit a person? You go to jail.

Keep the muzzle out of the pit! One round in the pit and everybody is hurt or worse!
