hey guys quick note from the north land. our crops are burnning up, but some recent rains give a glimmer of hope. we had great breeding conditions in our neck of the woods this spring and i have witnessed some very good duck numbers this year. far more young birds than in the past couple years. we have young birds that are already flying and we have seen several groups of very small birds even this week. this is a great indicator of 2nd and possible some 3rd hatches. michigan is often not thought of as a major breeding area, however, i think it contributes more birds than we think. this year i feel that we produced alot of mallards, which is our bread and butter duck up here. mouse

That's great to hear. Hard to even imagine that we had a wet enough spring for a good hatch because its been dry as toast for so long, but it sure sounds encouraging. Can't wait....
