Thoughts about new ducks

I've been hunting hard since the snow and that's about when things slowed down to a stand still. I get asked at least 10 times a day why it's so slow and if there's new ducks today and similar questions. Here's the answer: any ducks you see are new ducks because we haven't had many since Lacie had puppies.
Now on to the more important point. It's been fun to watch a few folks come and have a good time and enjoy duck camp even though it's been real slow. I've seen slow times like this cause most folks not to come for weeks on end and unfortunately, they miss out on a lot of good times.
Here's my encouragement: Ducks or not, come to camp, tell stories in the field and hope that you bag one or two. We did this all through jr high and high school when there was a two duck limit and you were done if you shot a hen first. It was all we knew and it was great fun, just different expectations than we have by todays standards.
