Fish ponds look great now, but getting stuck didn't help much. Picture attached.

A quick comment to say that it's awesome for us to have farmers that are in the club and hunt with us and are very close with me/the club. I've heard, seen and experienced all kinds of farmer actions that are not friendly to duck hunting and clubs. Whenever you see a farmer that runs in our circle, make sure you let them know that you appreciate them allowing us to be on their property. I recently heard of a farmer telling a club that only 10 specific people could hunt out of one of their best pits and all had to be on file with releases and they can't hunt past noon per farmers request. We have unbelievable freedom and I hope to keep it that way, but will only work if we think long term with our actions and respect our landlords and their property.

Yes, good pic to post to give all our members from afar an idea of what we go through day to day to get things ready for them....don't get me wrong either, I love the work. Even a hard day of work in the marsh is better than an easy day at work, I say.
I'm excited about the Fish Ponds, by the way. After we got the tractor unstuck I got to custom roll the East Fish Pond field from the eyes of a duck hunter. Most of the rice stalks were left standing, I rolled 10-15 acres in the immediate area around the pit to encourage the birds to work in close. Lot's of rice left in both fields, should be awesome.
