On a Much More Positive Note
I had to (chose to) write the only negative comment I've ever blogged in my two years w/ TR yesterday, and it really wasn't about the club, it was about a problem. I'm satisfied that the problem addressed is being handled appropriately, which is a positive sign of a good club. It's also a positive sign when things get hashed out. I have mentioned to Moo it might be a good idea if we could, as members, post blogs sometimes that can only be viewed by other members. He's exploring that possibility. That way all members would be aware of situations, without the outside knowing.
Be that as it may, I am still very high on our club, and the overall way it is run. We experienced a problem, and those in charge (and you have to have people in charge) addressed it, and have hopefully handled it. They say they have, and that satisfies me. In essence, I have the utmost confidence and respect in the people who reported the problem, and I have the same for the people handling it.
In the meantime, this has been a great season. The best I've seen in many years, but you have to remember I was a charter member in Bone Dry Duck Club a few years ago. We survived the drought, we addressed and discussed the potential problems that could face us, and it was handled. Again, a sign of a good club. I have especially enjoyed getting to know more people this year, and getting more comfortable. I have been greatly impressed with the friendliness and the goodness of our members. It makes me look forward to next year all the more. (Although I hope we don't have to rig nine million decoys again, Grover.) Most of all I'm fond of my small team #5. I look forward to hunting with them many years to come.
So there, I'm awfully fond of this place, and of our members. TR is a great duck club.I hope to hunt the rest of the weekends we have left, and I look forward to hoisting a drink and a cigar with anyone else so inclined to such vices.

Dan I like hunting with you too because you sleep in the pit and I get to kill your ducks!
