It's Official - Dove Hunt Opening Weekend - September 3 & 4, 2011
Good news!
We're hosting a dove hunt again after a couple years of uncooperative crops.
The 80-acre field we are hunting is the farmer's favorite dove field and it's cut milo… one of the dove's favorite and easy to find downed birds.
It's no accident that we've done well here in past years, because the farmer does everything (legal!) in his power to encourage birds to show up in force.
In 2007 & 2008, the game wardens told us our field had the highest concentration of dove in Northeast Arkansas.
We will meet in McCormick, Arkansas for coffee and a light breakfast around 5 AM and leave by 5:45 for the field, which is just 5 minutes away.
As usual, children 14 and under hunt free and everyone else pays $100 and is welcome to hunt all weekend.
This invitation is being sent out to Three Rivers and friends so RSVP back to me with how many spots you would like to reserve and the names of your guests.
When you reply, your spots are reserved and you owe $100/head, rain or shine.
There are a lot of logistics to consider, so please respond ASAP and we'll let you know if we we still have room.
When you arrive in McCormick, go ahead park your vehicles in an organized line on the road for a smooth exit after breakfast.
See the attached map to the "Doghouse Cafe". It's about about an hour from Memphis.
Look forward to seeing everyone in the field soon!

I talked with the milo farmer this afternoon and he said the field looked like mini Argentina the and the dove were swarming behind the combine. Bring plenty o shells and let's whack em.
