A Fine Opener

Congratulations to all of us on a great opening weekend for the club. While not all of us saw overwhelming numbers of birds, there seemed to be far more than in the past few years.

The Saturday nite party was outstanding. I've never tasted barbeque that good before. The guys who que'd it worked all nite long. Not that I noticed, but the ladies were even prettier than last year. Thanks to Hunter, Grover, Moo, Antonio, and all the other unsungs who made it happen.

(To digress for just a moment, it is amazing that Moo can put on a wonderful media presentation like that, and yet he still can't figure out how to get my picture on the website. But, as admitted, I digress.)

Lots of new faces to meet and try to remember. Please remember there are more than a few 3R's like me who have killed enough brain cells that it takes us a few times to remember names, so bear with us. Of course, my group will have no trouble remembering the name "Todd Brown". What kind of fellow names his dog "Mia", then puts a collar on her with "Charlie" engraved on it, then loses the dog, thus causing innocent finders of dog to call the number on the collar at 6 am,and wake up his nice wife, saying in a raspy voice - "Is Charlie there?" Anyway, Mia got herself found. Still don't know who Charlie is.Everyone should ask Todd Brown.

Enough. I am going to bed. Must rest up for next weekend. Porkchop, where are you?
