Congrats on band LB
As I read the Hunt Log the bird you killed was from Maryland?... I think there is a familiar story here...
Years ago a buddy of mine killed his first banded duck, yes, a Woodie. He bagan to tell me the story, where he was set up, how the bird flew in and what a great shot it was. He was actually calling me from the field. He was so excited, he was still breathing heavy and repeating himeself over and over, but I let him just go on and on.
As he wrapped up his story he said, " Hey Randy, Guess where it was banded?", I replied, "Where?", he said, "Laurel Maryland".....I thougth to myself, Laurel Maryland? that sounds familiar, so I asked, "Did you call it in already?", he said, "no"....so I asked, "how do you know that then?" He said, "It's right there on the band"...I laughed, it dawned on me, Laurel Maryland is the location of the data center for banded birds...I told him, " Dude, you have to call the 800 number and give them the numbers on the band, It's not a license plate!...He laughed too and later learned the duck was banded in Kentucky.
I share this story because I know it takes several weeks to get the information back, and since your duck was "from Maryland" I feel maybe, just maybe, the two stories are similiar...LOL, not to poke fun, and if I'm wrong than what are the odds.....
Congrats on NO MATTER where it was from !!!!
