LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas’ duck hunting season will open Saturday, Nov. 20, this year and run the maximum of 60 days in three segments, the state Game and Fish Commission decided today.

The 2010-2011 duck hunt will be the 16th straight year with the 60-day format, which is set by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

One change in the daily bag limits is that two pintails can be taken each day, an increase from the last year’s one pintail. The daily limit of six ducks can include four mallards, the most popular species for Arkansas hunters.

Duck season will be Nov. 20-28, Dec. 7-Jan. 17 and Jan. 22-30. The two-day youth hunt will be Feb. 5-6.

We are only closed for one weekend(DE. 4th) and open on Christmas, wow!

Yes, there is a typo on AR game and fish site and we are still starting at sunrise, not 12PM.

Looking forward to it boys-Hunter

I'm always working to get the club the best hunting spots possible. This season, I'm attempting to pick up some new ground, but need to add a few members to the club in order to make it happen. I'd rather not discuss details yet, but I hope it works out. If you have some friends that would like to get in the club, let me know.
On the timber question, I've picked up another new spot that is on the Cash river(about 50 acres) close to the town of Beedeville. It's a very natural area and the beavers have it wet right now. It's close to some very ducky ground and we'll see how it does this season. Like any timber, it's not for the light at heart and will take some equipment to hunt it. I think a small boat would be helpful, but not sure how deep the water will be during season. It will take this season figuring out what work needs to be done for next season, but it could turn out to be productive this season, we'll just have to see.

Thanks for the response. I will keep my eyes and ears opened to possible new members. For most guy I know, duck season still hasn't crossed their mind, I on the other hand, am ready to get started, especially with this cooler weather. 57 degrees at the Neely Ranch this morning. Almost found my self reach for the ice scraper...LOL

Thanks for all you do, I know it's a labor of love, but alot of headaches none the less.

Hunter, any word on new pits or moving pits? Any timber on the horizon this year? Does it look like we'll have the same tracks of land? Just curious.
