Made our Season!

Brittany my 11 year old killed her first duck (hen mallard) during Christmas break with the help of "Thunder"! Since that shot, Brittany has not missed one duck that she shot at, if you don't believe her just ask her! The memories continue!
ps: please note Mr. Brantley is awake in the picture!

Pits or levee

Just want to say thanks to whom ever put out the dekes on the south levee at north roberts. My son and myself had a great time this morning. We went to north roberts to find the bench seat not quite fitting. When we walked out, there were at least 300 ducks sitting around those decoys next to the levee. more »

Wish I Had Been Struck Blind

Gentlemen of 3R,

Well, today was one of those days. I, at the whim of some great cosmic force which I refuse to acknowledge or name, was made to witness something I would have rather been struck blind than to see. more »

Being positive

Woke up to ice, positivity flowing. Had a great pit. Weather front of cold finally here, perhaps some ducks? 6 of us busted ice. No ducks. Set up 7 dozen full bodies. No ducks. Set up 8 robos. No ducks. Used Argo and ranger and cleared out 200 yard hole. Looked great. No ducks. Cleaned ice off of 75 regular spread decoys. No ducks. Went to Betty's for hot meal at 9. No ducks. more »

OIL SLANDER

Hunter, just read your blog re: pumps, simple to operate, check oil, etc.

Having recently had trouble with my own pump, which led to total pump failure, I can only assume your remarks about how simple these pumps are to operate, and how they need oil, are insidious and nefarious efforts on your part to hold me up to ridicule before 3R and the world. more »

high winds as it relates to water and pits

20-40 mph winds tomorrow are forecasted. These winds will push water into ditches and pits, so I'd advise going to pits the night before to make sure everything is good to go.

At the den are now two 2 inch water pumps which any member is welcome to borrow. They are simple to operate. Please return with gas and always check the oil before you crank them, thanks. more »

Today...

Today we started pumping up the East Rayburn, Section Two and North Bridge pits.
Hopefully beginning welding tomorrow on North Roberts to increase the pit's height tomorrow.
