Pit Cleaning

Buffer

So far I've pumped North Roberts, Yankee, Burger, Claypool, & East Rayburn (formerly known as Claypool East). Just a few observations on pumping. Some of you may remember the pits last year that we SPOTLESSLY cleaned by using shovels, rakes, scoops and pickle buckets AFTER the initial pump out. some of you may remember that the pump will only get within a couple inches of dry, and certainly doesn't get all the debris (that's putting it pleasantly) out of the pit. Those pits that were ulra cleaned last year were very easy to pump....drive up, put in gas pump and pump for 10 minutes then done (except for scoop and pickle bucket cleaning of last bit of water). Those pits that didn't get a "deep clean" continuously stopped up the gas pump and took considerably longer to pump, leaving more water in the bottom. Please keep this in mind while using the scoops, pickle buckets, and shovels/rakes to do a deep clean on the pit on work day. Sure makes the work easier later and a whole lot nicer to hunt out of....FYI.

Yes, it's true we are going to make sure we get all the pits spotless before opening day and try to keep them that way as it's much more pleasant to show up to a clean pit, mid season or afterwards when it's time to pump it out.
