This Post is SHOUT OUT to the new guys, I have had many great hunts in my 5 years in the club on both sides of highway 14. In fact Three Rivers is where i started duck hunting. In the early days I would go out with Eggs and Joel and my shooting was incredible they would just keep putting ducks on my stringer it was great.
One thing I have learned is its really weird second half of the season because ducks may all of a sudden start using a different pit. Particularly when we are hunting AM/PM section 2. Some of my best hunts have been at Hotel, Heeb and House. In fact Mr Heeb one of our farmers could hunt anywhere he wanted to but has his personnel pit just south of swan pond. Some of our guys only want to hunt South of HWY 14 in Section 2. Thats fine but dont think that the stuff North of 14 is just scrap pits. One of the reasons Section 2 pits do well is that they are regularly hunted and are easy to get to. I have been burned at N and S bridge N and S roberts too. Case in point two weeks ago I negotiated with my team to get Section 2 for myself 4 buddies and then sent Brian Estes my team partner to Lake pit, I thought I had the better draw. Later that afternoon Brian came back with 7 ducks and a goose while i came back with 1 shov and 1 teal for 5 hunters. When the Languille River gets crazy so do the North Eastern Pits. After a hard freeze when the ice melts i have found that the ducks return back to the fields and they get stupid again like it is opening day. You can't always predict when or where or why the duck do what they do. If your clients and friends that you bring over dont understand that then you may not want them as cliets or friend anyway. I only know of a few clubs with truly predictable ducks and they are tightly held by the extremely wealthy. I cant wait to join one and leave all you rednecks behind.....Just Kidding I am in Three Rivers For Life.
