Hunting in Memphis!

My work schedule has not been exactly conducive to arkansas time this year...stuck in the urban environment a slave to work, what is a poor hunter to do? Well, you must take your opportunities where they arise! Two days ago my ferocious canine "Cooper" accosted some marauding Memphis wildlife on the back porch when we let him out for nature's call.

A few words about my canine. Although he is only a 12 pound miniature dachshund, he has still managed to achieve "bad dog" status as evidenced by a letter sent to me by my faithful MLGW meter reader's supervisor....looks pretty intimidating, no? I guess looks can be deceiving... let me just say that successful meter reading requires close attention to meter reading day on my part. Picture of said ferocious "bad dog" is the first picture.

Anyway, back to the story. So Cooper goes out for nature's call and went ballistic. Further investigation of the ruckus with a spotlight revealed lots of beady sinister eyes glowing from the high oaken perch where they had been treed. Apparently, little Cooper had braced an entire family of marauders....HUNTING OPPORTUNITY! This required a little teamwork...Wifey had spotlight duty while the air rifle was employed with precision and deadly accuracy. To date, the population of backyard invaders has been whittled down by three in two nights of thrilling sport in the Wild Kingdom of EAST MEMPHIS. Enjoy.

So what's the cost for a hunt in your back yard? Or can you lease said dog for a small fee. Thanks to my efforts to keep the birds fed here, I have oddles of the "bandit ones"

I think Cooper should come to try-outs in the pit with you!
He'll clean out the pit frogs at the very least...
