Hunter, Grover and I all had a similar experience when we were very young.
Our dad took us out on one of many dove dove hunts with Stovall and his father, Stovall Sr.
Mr. Kendrick was putting a dove out of its misery by whacking its head against his gun barrel... Well, that dove's head came clean off!
None of us barfed, but we were all horrified to the point that we remember the experience even today!

Should have seen my boy's faces when they saw me wring the neck and/or bite the head of a duck for the first time. Daddy is a killer! very medieval...
