House - huntable
South House - huntable
Yankee - dry bc we are still waiting on good weather conditions to extend n Roberts 5 inches. Remember: there were complaints on how high the new n Roberts pit stuck out in 2010 season, so we lowered it last spring
North Roberts - huntable and Hjr and I pumped it out last Sunday. Decoys were left on the levee south of the pit
South Roberts - huntable but could use some brushing around the base of the pit.
South Bridge - huntable
North Bridge - pretty dry by the pit but should be wet before the weekend
Section Two - dry but will be wet by the weekend
Berger - will be dry except after heavy rains. Bean field levee blew out in the early season floods accompanied by sustained high winds. If significantly damaged, bean field levees don't get replaced midseason, because they're too soft to work with.
Alabama - huntable
West Rayburn - huntable
Shop Pit - huntable
West Fish Pond - huntable on the levees and perfect for freezing temps like this weekend since its deep. Before pits were ever put in and the ponds still had fish, hunting from the side of the road between the ponds was often a blast!
East Fish Pond - same as west FP
Claypool's - huntable
East Rayburn - huntable off east levees, but pit is low water at the moment as we've had several levee blowouts. Should have water by pit before the weekend
Airstrip - huntable
Duck Pond Field - no water by east end of field, however beaver pond is wet and could be explored
Duck Pond Timber - most of flooded timber recessed but plenty of spots to hunt in the slough/pond
Beedeville 50 - water has changed but huntable east of where first season decoys were. Also, we join the Cache River and it's got plenty of water and plenty of ducks from what I've heard. When someone says there's no water at Beedeville, remember they're probably not thinking about the Cache River!
North 40 - plenty of water. Beavers keep us flooded most of the year.

Mike,

Just before you get to the first bridge (there are 3 on the Languille River) headed west from Hwy 1, you'll see a house on the left/south, with a levee around the house, and a house and shop on the right/north. at that spot there is a field. To the left of the house there are alot of piles of gravel and dirt, there is also a lone tree right off the road. Park there and wheeler south down the new dirt road/levee. That road will take you to the dry field area.

The pit, sticking out of the ground, is to the left...if you follow the tree line to your right it will take you past an old house and a junk pile and then around to the slough. Anywhere on that tree line you can walk 30 feet in and be looking at the water.

Hope this helps

Randy

Mike, See the google map link on this site, but take Hwy 1 S to Whitehall. R on 214. Farm is on left right before you cross the Languille.

does anyone have directions to duck field, pond and north 40? I have talked to several members and can not find anyone who knows how to get there?
any help is appreciated>Mike

Anytime anyone can post updates from the areas they have hunted, worsened or improved, it benefits the club members. Thanks for all and any updates. Greg

Hunter and Randy,

Good updates. Your descriptions appear to be the same. Thanks to both of y'all for taking the time to blog them.

Moo, good explanation of what's been going on. Always helps to know things like that.

Dan
