Great Opener

Thanks to all for a great 2010/2011 Opener. Had a blast killin them ducks with friends and family. Met lots of great folks. Seem to have a great group of guys at the Horsebarn. Georgia is well represented this year. I might just become a Bulldawg fan !!!

Thunder Dan Taylor

A pic of the mighty Thunder Dan as he approaches an opening in the pack ice not knowing if the Killer Whale is lurky beneath, Yet he bravely retrieves his kill all the same.

Day of the DEEP FREEZE

My son, Jonathan, and a friend of his, Michael, hunting the fish ponds on the day of the Deep Freeze. Michael got his first triple, three shots, three dead ducks. I don't think I've ever done that?

The boys literally laid on the ice outside the pit!

The boys still talk about that day.

Those smiles are what it's all about !

It's HOT!

Hard to believe that even with all this heat one would think of duck hunting...well I do. Just the other day my son told me he's been having dreams about duck hunting. Won't be long boys, see you all soon!

"They're back!

Didn't see alot of ducks on the farm this weekend, but the ride back to Memphis was an awe inspiring moment. Ducks, ducks, and more ducks all on the move flying north. My son watched ducks flying from the ridge to West Memphis. Fields off I55 were buzzin with ducks. I'm assuming their time on the rivers is over.

If you find it...they will come!

We drove over Sat around 9 a.m. just to get away from the big city, Me, my son, a friend of his, Dan and Steve. Packed the truck with rifles prepared to chase the coyotes. Was snowing pretty good in Harrisburg when we arrived. Drove around the entire farm and what to my eyes did appear but hundreds of Mallards keeping two holes open on West Fishpond and Claypool's. Ducks everywhere, NO kidding! more »
