Huntable Pits for youth weekend
I drove the farm this morning and here's the update:
House - good to go
S house - good to go. Water is very skinny on east side of the pit but got up 400-500 in the field and 50 pros were in the decoys knee deep water in the pit. My pump is at the den if you like to use it.
Yankee - good to go
N Roberts - might be underwater, if so hunt the levee due south of the pit. Ducks sitting there as I type.
S Roberts - good to go
S bridge - good to go
N bridge - good to go
Section 2 - good to go
Beedeville - haven't had time to scout but would guess that ducks can be killed there after this rain.
Had reports of 10,000+ ducks using the farm in the last couple of days so bring a couple boxes of shells. This recent rain has ducks sitting in puddles everywhere. There are a couple marginable spots on north farm, claypools put where water is puddled up, airstrip and if folks are interested in hunting ducks out of my snow spread, there's been fair numbers of ducks using it, call me to discuss afternoon hunts.
Here's what we're gonna do. If you haven't claimed a pit and want to hunt, call or see me at Josie's tonite and we'll make sure every kid that wants to hunt has a place to go. Let's work together like a team for our future Waterfowlers.
