I got word that the farmers are wanting to drain the fields asap after this thaw which will leave the fields muddy for awhile. All this to see, we need to get up the remaining decoys this weekend or whatever is left will be muddy when we pick up, stuck weights in the dry mud and muddy next Fall when we put em to work again.
Get to the house ASAP on saturday or Sunday and follow these simple steps.
1. Get 4-5 clear plastic bags per field
2. Pick up, untangle and wrap the decoy, 40-45 per clear bag - don't put decoys in these bags if they need any attention.
3. Sort out decoys that need attention and place in the dog kennels for assessment.
4. Clean out the pit of big trash, decoys that don't float, clean out shell hulls and smaller trash as well. This prevents from stopping up the re-lift pumps next Fall and helps with pit deterioration as well.
5. Next, we'll put 3 bags per poly bag(the big white ones) which will leave us with @120 decoys per poly bag ready for use next season.

We also need to have several folks canvasing the fields on 4 wheelers to make sure we have every decoy and large trash cleaned up before farmers have to till it under.

Please let me know if you can make it so I'll have an idea of what to plan on. Bring kids, guests, parents, neighbors, bosses and homeless people if they are willing to help so we can knock out the balance this weekend.

Thanks and let me know if you can join me at Josies Friday night at 7.
