freezing temps

for the guys new to pit hunting, just a heads up. What usually happens after a hard freeze is good hunting as ducks are hungry to get back into the fields when they thaw and look for ducks in places that they haven't been using. Ie slash water and the corn field. Break up the ice the night before and sometimes our best hunts take place. The question is how long will it take to thaw. Watch the weather and good luck.

Dear Bradley

You have come a long way since the days of old.
Hang in there. It is not too much longer until Nelson shoots his first bird and I will be there to make sure it is a hen spoon.

Woods

Anyone checked the status on the woods?.....
holding water? enough water yet? educated guesses on how much more rain needed before huntable?
thanks much.

Is anyone hunting other Pits??

It seems that the only pits that are being hunted or least being placed on the Hunt logs are the southern pits ( South Bridge, North Bridge, N & S Roberts, S-2, Etc). Does no one hunt the north side of Hwy 14 or are they not logging in their hunts because of no ducks flying?? This is m first year as a member. so I am trying to decide wheather or not to come over and hunt if I have a North side draw.

Please let me know. I don't want to bring guests over if the ducks are not in these areas and waste my time plus my clients/guests..

Thanks
