There is nothing like a ride around the farm seeing 1000's of geese and ducks to get you ready for the new season. Yes, I saw a swarm of ducks today! Specs are out in crazy numbers too! Bird count I here is up. Should be a great season. I went out to 6 pits today and they look great. Brings back some good memories. South Bridge looks better than ever.

Glad I have a whole year to recover.. "could haves and should haves" don't win championchips. Good thing there is duck shooting therapy still available this year.

It sure is fun watching my boys become duck slayers. They have killed more than me this year. Think my barrel is bent or something... Creating memories between fathers and sons is what it is all about. I am blessed. I can hear them now telling stories to their friends about when they hunted with their dad. i know everyone is waiting for this pit. but i snagged it. But, i won't hunt it until tomorrow afternoon around 1pm. so if someone wants the early shoot, go ahead.

Word is mallards are being smoked late morning. So sleep in and get to pit at 9am and bring plenty of shells. Can't wait till after break. Just wetted my appetite thus far..

Nothing like a sunrise from the pit! Been awhile since i have seen one. Puts me in a good place.
