Southern Hospitality

I hosted my brother-in-law and nephew for their introduction to Arkansas waterfowling last Wednesday evening through Sunday at Three Rivers. My nephew, Jeff, was especially excited for a break from Michigan weather, a chance to work his young retriever, Ella, and of course to make some great family memories. For my brother-in-law Herm, his hunting adventures have become pretty infrequent, and he wasn't sure what to expect. It didn't take long for them to feel at home at The Den, and by Friday they were revising their plans to stay an extra day through the close of the regular season on Sunday.
Besides the fun of watching Ella progress from hesitant to enthusiastic newbie duck dog and sharing stories in the long gaps between action in the blinds, they enjoyed the warm welcome and friendliness of the Three Rivers members and the atmosphere at the Den. Our members and their guests at The Den this weekend provided the epitome of southern sportsman hospitality and truly made a big impression on Jeff and Herm. Thanks to everyone who helped make their introduction to Arkansas duck hunting so memorable.
