What's Tupelo Flats?

Well, it's a little experiment that we've been carrying on with some of the longtime Three Rivers Duck Club members and some kindred souls in the local community. It's kind of a side-car club to Three Rivers.

Lately, the experiment has been paying off rather nicely in the form of ducks! ... so it felt like the right time to invest. This season we're expanding the footprint of Tupelo Flats in both land, members, and a stout new blind!

This post is mostly about the new blind... so enjoy!

By the way, some people see a blind this big, and they think it'll scare waterfowl. The last time we built a blind this big, the local Canada Geese nested on top! ...and that blind has been killing a LOT of ducks ever since!

Here's what's going on in the pics below:
1) As usual, blind building carries on into the night!
2) Thankfully we have some serious carpenters on hand to keep things on track...
3) Here's something you don't see too often in a duck blind: five-foot-wide stairs that go all the way to cement footings in the ground!
4) Six-by-Sixes holding up the the corners
5) The deck is starting to come together here
6) Here's a great view of where we're integrating new work with an existing blind platform.
7) A nice view of the massive shooting-platform-to-be (and a lot more!)
8) This blind isn't scared of flood season!
9) Here's another view of the cavernous area under the deck
10) The stairs are coming together
11) That's the footing for the super-wide stairway
12) It's been HOT in our little swamp
13) And finally, here's a view of the blind's nest in the trees and brush.
