Hunt Log

Thank you everyone for your efforts in keeping the hunt log updated...nice work! I've only been on one hunt so far myself, so it's especially nice being able to share in your experiences while at home and work. As bleak as it seemed two weeks before the season started due to lack of water, who would have thought we'd be at 700 five days into the season?

Kudos where KUDOS is due (pic)

Of course I'm speaking about the club workday weekend we just completed. Although there are many heroes who have been working hard the last several weeks making major improvements and getting the work done, the point of this post is primarily to thank the 2010-2011 DECOY CREW who worked to get a major operation completed....re-rig the Three Rivers Decoy flock (almost in its entirety). more »

But speaking of "pin-up" pics at the duckboard...

Here is one showing a nice bag...looks like we ran out of space. This was an opening day hunt from a few years back. The second picture is what I call an "artsy" shot. I am no photographer by any stretch of the imagination, but every once in a while, I get lucky and shoot one I really like. The action had slowed at the pit and this picture was taken right on the levee outside the pit. more »

"new" South Roberts look

Had a great talk with Randy Neely today....he made a comment that reminded me of some concerns I've heard in the past of how high South Roberts sits out of the water. First let me agree and say that it is, but also that the ducks don't seem to care.....when they want that field, IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG, above ground submarine notwithstanding. more »

Another Great Hunt!

With all this talk of not having any water, I'm sure some of you are wondering what it looks like when we have plenty. Here was a picture taken at the pit (I love those, alot more character than a pin-up pic at the duck board back at the clubhouse) after a great hunt. This was a 5 man limit hunt, we just didn't have enough dry ground to lay out all the birds. more »
